God's Amazing Sounds
OKAY! Yes I am doing two in one day, but I just couldn't wait till tomorrow to share my precious little bird named Yellow. One day about a year ago, my granddaughter Lily and I decided it was time to have a parakeet, so off to the Pet Store we went and she picked out the prettiest yellow bird that was there and of course she named it YELLOW, since Lily is only 3 years old that was a convenient name for her to come up with. I just got to tell you, Yellow, really does her chattering when the water runs, or something is frying in the pan, OR when my husband and I raise our voices a little (which that doesn't happen very often). Well, I was up on a blog site today and was playing their music and Yellow really began to sing along, it was just a wonderful sound, she was definitely singing to her Creator. The song by the way was Amazing Grace!!!! Isn't it amazing how God gets all of His creation to be happy and thankful.
SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER - 22 DAYS
Here on the Ponderossa, we don't have to wonder when Spring is around the corner, these beautiful heron lets us know. Each year around this time they come here in hundreds, you can hear them coming while they are still far away. Our little Ponderossa sits in the middle of hundreds of acres of farmland, each year the crops are corn or soybean. The heron come here to feed from the many acres of grain that has fallen from the last harvest. I really enjoy hearing them make their honking sound, but they are really ominous when you are outside and they are gliding over head. Last fall before they went south, we were having a campout here on the Ponderossa, it was in October, the temperature was around 32 degrees that night, the whole family was here and we had our tents all set up. Our middle son decided to set off a big firework that he had, left over from July, when it went off those birds took off and it was a site to behold.

ROOSTER TOOK OVER THE TERRITORY
Several years ago here on the Ponderossa, I decided to raise some little chicks, my first granddaughter Kayla really loved it. Well, believe it or not one of them grew up and became a big black rooster. I've just got to tell you more about him. Whenever my middle son would come home, he would literally come up to the driver side of the car to keep him from getting out. If he tried to get out he would chase him and I mean to tell you, the rooster was ready to get him. He became the ROOSTER OF THE TERRITORY, it was Mr. Rooster against everyone. He was a magnificent creature.
WOW HOW THEY KEEP ME ALIVE!
There is never a dull moment at Mammie's house. I have one more granddaughter who is not walking yet, can you imagine how lively it will be. These are the love of my life.
Getting to know you
Julie Andrews sings" Getting To Know You", and realizing that you are my cup of tea. Speaking of teas, I gave a Bridal Tea for one of my nieces Saturday. It was one of those days that we could just be girls. You can just imagine the stories that we shared, trying to make the future bride shake in her shoes. I decorated the dining room, with crystal bowls, tea pots, victorian boxes and of course food to make the mouth water. When I get good at this I will try to post some pictures.
I hope you will come and join me time to time, because I just love a good visit from a friend.
